Terms and Conditions

Welcome to XLINGUA!

By registering for any XLINGUA course, you agree to the following terms and conditions.

Registration & Enrollment

  • Registration is completed through the XLINGUA App or website.
  • Course participation begins upon payment confirmation.
  • Placement tests are required for all non-beginner levels to ensure accurate group placement.
  • All classes are subject to minimum group size requirements (3 participants).

Courses & Class Format

  • Group classes consist of 3–6 students and last 90 minutes each.
  • Private sessions last 60 minutes and can be 1:1 or 2:1 (second person free).
  • Lessons are held online via Zoom, accessible directly through the XLINGUA App.
  • No in-person classes are offered, except for company courses.
  • No classes take place on Swiss public holidays; these are added to the end of the course.

Attendance & Make-Up Policy

  • Missed group classes can be made up by joining another group during the same course period (subject to availability).
  • Private sessions can be cancelled or rescheduled up to 24 hours in advance via the app. Late cancellations or no-shows are charged in full.
  • Students must ensure they have a stable internet connection, webcam, and microphone for each session.

Payment Terms

  • Course fees must be paid in full via credit card (Stripe) or by invoice (companies only).
  • Payment in installments is available (+5%), automatically billed monthly.
  • Special offers and discounts are not applicable for installment payments.
  • All prices are in CHF (Swiss Francs) and include access to all app features and study materials.

Refund & Transfer Policy

  • No refunds are issued once a course is purchased.
  • Courses may be transferred to a friend or family member free of charge by notifying support.
  • In cases of illness or emergencies, an Emergency Voucher equal to the remaining value may be issued upon proof.
  • Vouchers are valid for 12 months and may be transferred once.
  • All refund or voucher requests must be made in writing to XLINGUA Support.

Certificates & Learning Materials

  • Upon completion of a package, students receive an XLINGUA Certificate showing attendance and CEFR level.
  • Custom course materials and teacher resources are always included at no extra cost.
  • Certificates are automatically stored and downloadable via the student dossier.

Technology & Platform Use

  • The XLINGUA App is required for participation.
  • Students agree to maintain confidentiality and not share login details with others.
  • Unauthorized recording or distribution of class sessions or materials is strictly prohibited.
  • XLINGUA reserves the right to remove any participant who violates these rules or disrupts class activities.

Teacher Substitution & Course Continuity

  • If a teacher is unavailable, XLINGUA will provide a qualified substitute.
  • If no substitute is available, the class will be rescheduled or added to the end of the course.
  • XLINGUA reserves the right to change teachers, schedules, or groups when necessary to maintain quality and progress.

Feedback & Quality Assurance

  • After the 3rd session, students will receive a feedback request.
  • XLINGUA encourages open communication—any dissatisfaction will be addressed promptly, including possible teacher reassignment.

Referral Program

  • Recommend XLINGUA to friends and receive a 10% voucher once your referral registers and names you in the app.
  • The voucher is non-transferable, valid for 12 months, and cannot be combined with other discounts.

Data Protection & Privacy

  • Personal data is handled in accordance with Swiss data protection law.
  • Information is used solely for educational and administrative purposes.
  • Students can request data deletion at any time by contacting support.

Limitation of Liability

  • XLINGUA is not responsible for internet outages, device failures, or third-party service interruptions.
  • Course results depend on individual effort, attendance, and participation.
  • Liability for any indirect or consequential damages is excluded to the extent permitted by law.',

Governing Law & Jurisdiction

  • These Terms and Conditions are governed by Swiss law.
  • The place of jurisdiction is Zurich, Switzerland.
